Drew is a founding member and the president of WYSEF. Drew’s passion for skiing permeates his world. He is a Level 3 licensed USSA cross country ski coach; he has been a co-director of the Race Clinics held during the West Yellowstone Ski Festival since 1989; he has been the director of the Yellowstone Rendezvous Race since 1990; and he is the current head coach of the West Yellowstone cross country ski team. As one might expect, Drew is an accomplished skier at the local and national level. When asked about his introduction to cross country ski racing, he shared the following story. “When I was in college, I worked at a ski shop for an owner who was an NCAA ski champion. He got me ski touring on cross country skis. One day he handed me a pair of racing skis and told me to pick a pair of racing boots that fit. I asked what we were going to do, and he said we were going to race the next day in Park City, Utah. I told him I didn’t know anything about cross country ski racing. Bob replied, “You will tomorrow.” and the rest is history.” Drew’s free time is spent fishing, hiking and skiing as well as biking, having done several bike tours in the United States and Europe since 2010.
