Julie joined WYSEF as the grants administrator in July 2020, wanting to be part of the organization that helped manage the trails she so enjoyed skiing. Since her first time skiing the Rendezvous trails as a beginner in 2009, she has returned regularly through the years, leading up to she and her husband moving to West Yellowstone during the winter months. Julie gained experience writing grants during her time earning her PhD and then as a researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder. The realization that choosing where one lives is as important as what one does as a profession was the impetus for Julie moving to Montana. Living in the Gallatin Valley, when not looking and applying for funding, Julie spends her time hiking, skiing, snowshoeing ~ anything that allows her to be outside, often with her husband and their two fur babies.
