Race Time and Place

The Yellowstone Rendezvous Race begins at 8:45 AM at the Povah Center near the Rendezvous Ski Trailhead. All skiers will start between 8:45 AM and 9:30 AM, with start time determined by waves (assigned after registration closes).

Distance and Course Information

The 25-kilometer course starts on the old Union Pacific railroad bed on the south side of West Yellowstone. West's own Mountain Men fire a black powder cannon to start the event and the racers are off! The course begins with a one kilometer sprint to a short uphill where the racers enter the trees. The course then winds through the woods and over hills climbing from 6666 feet to 6900 feet. The climb is rewarded with a breathtaking view of the alpine terrain followed by a series of sweeping downhill runs interrupted by moderate uphill climbs. At the 21 kilometer mark, it's all down hill. 50 kilometer racers must complete the loop twice. See the course map and race profile for more information.
