Sprint Race

Format

This event will be organized following standard IBU & USBA rules for the Sprint Race. The Start will be individual at 30 sec intervals.

Categories/Distances/Shooting

U15 M/W* 4.5km Prone-Prone

Youth Men, Junior Women, Women, Masters Men

7.5km Prone-Standing

Youth Women, Masters Women

6km Prone-Standng

Junior Men, Men

10km Prone-Standing

Men

*U15 categories use 'Rack to Rack' procedure in the range.

Awards Schedule

Awards to the top 3 finishers in each class. All awards will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony at the Biathlon Range following the completion of all Biathlon races, approximately 12:30PM

Novice Race

Format

This event is open to all interested skiers. No previous biathlon or shooting experience is necessary.  Rifles and Ammunition are provided.

All new biathletes are required to participate in the "Try It" Biathlon clinic at the range on Tuesday Nov. 21 from 10:00 am to noon.  All Novice racers are welcome but you are not required to attend the clinic if you have previously attended a clinic at the Rendezvous Ski Trails Biathlon Range.

Novice Race is also for any experienced biathletes with their own rifles, but who do not plan to carry their rifles.

4.5km for all categories

All Novice categories shoot Prone-Prone (on Standing-size targets), rifle rest permitted. U15 Men/Women, Men/Women

Awards Schedule

Awards to the top 3 Men and Women in the each category. All awards will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony at the Biathlon Range following the completion of all Biathlon races, approximately 12:30PM.

Tuesday, November 21

Biathlon Try-It Clinic

Biathlon Try-It Clinic participants must have a trail pass and ski equipment to participate in the clinic.  All passes are non-refundable. Registration is limited to 50 participants in each of two sessions.  All skiers should meet at the Biathlon Range (1.5k from trail head area, accessible by skiing only) 15 minutes prior to clinic start in order to check in.  Spectators are welcome to ski out (with a trail pass) or walk along the South Plateau Rd (without ski equipment). There are no shuttles available. Participants should wear proper attire for standing outside in winter weather.

Registration

Regular Registration

$50.00 per skier until Wednesday, November 22 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Online registration only.

Late Regstration

$65 fee per skier from the close of Regular Registration until Thursday, November 23 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).  NO EXCEPTIONS.

REGISTRATION FOR ALL RACES CLOSES THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

Scoring

NRL Rules

ALL racers participating in this race MUST hold either an active US Ski & Snowboard license or an active FIS license. All licenses must be active and submitted no later than Thursday, November 23, at noon. Any athlete who is inactive after noon Thursday, and wishes to race without a license, will be seeded after licensed racers.

Awards

Will be given on site as soon as race results are final.
